Ethel May Hallett

(1898 - ????)

Ethel May was baptised at St John Baptist Church, Bridgwater on 4 November 1898. Her Parents were recorded as John and Emily Hallett who lived at 59 Barclay Street. Her father was employed as a sail maker.

John and Emily had two girls prior to Ethel, Lilian Sarah in 1894 and Elsie Amelia in 1896

At the time of the 1901 census Ethel's still living at 59 Barclay Street. Also in the property is her sister Lilian, grandparents John and Amelia Pearm and their daughter Emma Pearm, who is recorded as single. A further grandchild of John and Amelia Pearm was also resident, 13 year old Henry Crawford.

It is not certain if Emma Pearm is Ethel's mother and if not where her mother might be. Ethel's father has yet to be located at this time but could have been taking part in the war in S Africa.

Ethel's other sister Elsie was living with her other grandparents George and Joanna Hallett at 2 Railway Parade, Bridgwater.

The following tree demonstrates the connection with Ethel and my line. George Hallett and John Hallett, both appeared to move around the country together.
