Louisa Jane Gould

(1886 - 1961)

Louisa Jane was the last of John and Harriet Gould's children to have been born in Kingsbrompton, Somerset (12th May 1886).

Louisa Jane was admitted to Coedpenmaen Girl's School on the 5th of May 1893. Her address at that time was given as 34, Coedpenmaen. She progressed through Standards 1 and 2 in 1894 and 1895 respectively. No date of leaving is shown.

The 1901 census shows that Louisa was living at 1, Lionel Road, Canton, Cardiff with her mother Harriet and two younger sisters Bessie and Edith Laura. Her father John Gould, brothers Ernest and George and sisters Rosa and Lilian were living at an address in Abercynon.

She was married to Joseph Winter (b.1886) on the 4th August 1907 in Abercynon, St Donat's Church. At that time Joseph was 22 years old and Louisa 21. Joseph's address was given as 26, Park St. and Louisa was living at 20, Nash street, the address associated with Charles and Rosa Gregory. Joseph's father was named as Thomas Winter and he was by that time deceased. Witnesses at the wedding included Charles William Gregory and Bessie Gould.

Joseph John - (Baptised at Abercynon, St Donat's Church 8th March 1916) (d.1972)

Elizabeth (Jane or Harriet) - (Baptised at Abercynon, St Donat's Church 1920)

Edwin Gould (1925 - 1997)

Joseph and Louisa Jane Winter are known to have lived at 26, Park Street in 1907/1908 (when Edgar Thomas was baptised) and at 34, Abercynon Road, Abercynon from 1911.

Louisa Jane died on December 19th 1961, some years after Joseph who is reputed to have died at a football or rugby match in Abercynon. Louisa Jane is buried in Abercynon Cemetery with Joseph (27/4/43) and son Joseph John (27/1/72).
